Joseph M. Meir

President

The company President, Mr. Joseph Meir, was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. Since graduation from Duke University in 1981, he has been actively involved in the commercial real estate business. In 1984, Mr. Meir joined the real estate department at Prudential-Bache Securities Inc., in Manhattan, where he became Assistant Vice President. At the investment bank, he put together joint ventures and limited partnerships for new developments throughout the United States. In 1987, Mr. Meir decided to enter the development side of the business and left the investment bank to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in their Center for Real Estate Development. After receiving his Masters Degree, he spent one year with Richard Gordon Interests, a Hartford, Connecticut based Commercial Real Estate firm, before returning to Raleigh to start Blue Ridge Realty, Inc.  Joe has an AB degree from Duke University, an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke and a Masters Degree in Real Estate Development from MIT. He is a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina, and is a frequent speaker at real estate conferences and tax seminars. He is a past member of the Southern 7 Chapter of Young Presidents Organization (YPO), a past President and Board Member of The Triangle Area Office Building Association, as well as a past member of the Triangle Commercial Association of Realtors (TCAR) and Tacquire. He is a current member of the Board of Directors of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance.

Victor Meir

Vice President | In-House Counsel

Victor Meir was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is an attorney and a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the Tenth Judicial District Bar and the North Carolina Bar Association. While attending law school, he clerked for the law firm of Johnson, Mercer, Hearn & Vinegar in their corporate and real estate departments. His expertise is in the area of contracts, leases and property management. Victor has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Juris Doctor from Western New England School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Rick Meir

Director of Leasing/Marketing

Rick was born and raised in Raleigh and attended North Carolina State University where he majored in Economics and Political Science.  In addition, he recently received his Master's in Real Estate from Georgetown University.  Rick brings a variety of brokerage and marketing experience, having spent most of his career in leasing both multi-family and commercial real estate.

Krystal Meier

Controller

Krystal Meier joined Blue Ridge Realty in 2016 as an Accountant. She is now our Controller and oversees our financial department. Krystal was born and raised in New England. She made her way to Pennsylvania after high school to attend Eastern University where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Business Management. Prior to Blue Ridge Realty, Krystal began her career in the real estate market as an Accountant for a high end residential and commercial property management firm in Philadelphia. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, watching sports and spending time with her husband, their dog and three children.

 

Bill Piver

Director of Maintenance & Construction Manager

As the Construction Manager at Blue Ridge Realty, Inc., Bill oversees building maintenance, construction, and fit-up projects from inception to completion. He coordinates with the City to obtain the appropriate permits, and works with Architects, Engineers, and Contractors to ensure work is completed properly and up to code. A native of Wilmington, NC, Bill has 26 years of construction experience. He is a Veteran of the United States Army, with13 years of dedicated service. He earned his Degree at Andover College in Portland, Maine. Bill joined Blue Ridge Realty, Inc in 2010. He brings outstanding expertise and a wonderful sense of humor to the Blue Ridge Realty team. Life outside of the office includes his wife, three sons, and five grandchildren. Bill is also an avid gardener and enjoys tending to his rose garden.

Betsy Townsend

Director of Property Manager

Betsy joined Blue Ridge Realty, Inc in 2018 as the Office manager and is now the Property Manager. She is originally from Richmond, VA but has been in the Raleigh area since 1992. Betsy is a graduate of Meredith College with a BA in Psychology and grew up in a home where Real Estate was life. She has a background in residential real estate, office management and Veterinary Medicine. Betsy resides in Raleigh with her husband, 19-year-old son, 3-year-old daughter and her dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching college football (Go Hokies!) and volunteering with animal rescue.

Kristen Ferran

Accountant

Kristen joined Blue Ridge Realty in 2018. She is a graduate of Niagara University with a BA in Hotel, Restaurant Management. Kristen has a background in banking, office management, insurance, and customer service. In her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with her three kids and husband.

Jill Skelley

Office Manager

Jill joined Blue Ridge Realty in 2021 as the Office Manager. She was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia, and relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2002. Jill attended West Virginia University's music department for a piano performance program after taking 9 years of piano lessons, and from there went on and performed in restaurants and hotels in the Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia areas. She has a background working as a paralegal, at hotels, in customer service, and accounting. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading, baking, visiting the beach, spending time with her sister and dachshund, and volunteering for the SPCA and various dog rescues.
